The rhythm of my footsteps -
The shadow dance of leaves.
I try to see your figure
Through the swaying trunks of trees.
The wind stirs up the echoes
Piled in drifts inside my head.
It seems our sole connection
Is a ghost ship golden thread.
The path you took is caught
In the corner of my eye.
It's apparent what you thought
But still I wonder why.
The circle of this clearing
Cups a light that makes me cry.
I still remember how we danced
Beneath a burning sky.
The path you took is caught
In the corner of my eye.
It's apparent what you thought
But still I wonder why.
These woods are filled with life,
Most which I can't see -
Why did you leave me?
The tracks in softer ground
Witness who's been through -
Patterns tied to you.
I remain a stranger
In some other creature's home -
Alone.
I stack the broken branches
Just to show that I've been here -
To offer up a tear.
The path you took is caught
In the corner of my eye.
It's apparent what you thought
But still I wonder why.
The clouds above the forest
Cause the sunlight to decay.
The thread of gold is fading
And it seems I've lost my way.
The path you took is caught
In the corner of my eye.
Your life became a knot
To untie.
