From certain mountains that look over the plains, the curvature of the Earth can be clearly seen. From that perspective, the flat-earth troubles of my daily life shrink to trivia.

From the height of God's perspective, we see over the problems that would wear us down to the blessed future that lies ahead. In other words, we begin to see ourselves as God sees us, through the eye of Faith.

The purpose of The Law was not to crush us with our sinfulness, but rather to cause us to turn to God's righteousness. With this turn, God lifts us above our crawling to the height of the vision that sees the final victory over sin and death as an established fact soon to appear upon our limited horizons.

This song is a counterpoint to Curse of Vision In Hell, in that God's vision brings life instead of destruction, expands instead of blinds, produces joy instead of despair.

"Each drop of rain" is that the most difficult thing for a human being to deal with is the gradual erosion of our ideals by the grind of each day's contact with the world.  Nothing seems less abrasive than rain, but over time it beats high mountains down.

"Sand" represents the shards of the whole stone.

"Rolled by the sea" is that even when we are broken from mountains to sand, the world continues to pound at us, mocking.

"My eyes can see" the approaching final victory, the grand unity, from the perspective of faith in God's Word.

"Raging storms" ties to Falling and The Signature.

"Every wall" ties to Walls Made of Glass.

"Forest floor" is the jungle of this world.

"Mountain" is the source, representing God.  Our strength comes from the mountain because God is the source of our existence, and all true power. The coming Mount Zion will not erode to sand.

"Meant to be" is the world when God comes to dwell among humanity, to be our light everywhere.  I look over this present darkness to that light.

"Horizon" ties to Night Curtains.

"The key" is the key that unlocks the Lamb's Book of Life at the Great White Throne Judgement.

"Mad tyrant" is that time defines our finite earthly existence.  This limit will fall when death is destroyed.  Describing it as having a long reign is somewhat recursive, since long here means a great span of time.
