This rock feels the teeth of each drop of rain,
Relentlessly tearing at me grain by grain.
I feel like sand forever rolled by the sea,
A stone from the mountain stripped of dignity.
Then God lifts me up so high my eyes can see
The splendor of Heaven's golden tapestry
Wrapped 'round the shoulders of Jesus' bride -
And suddenly I am fully satisfied.
I'm looking down on the curve of the Earth
And my troubles vanishing small.
From the height that looks on the curve of the Earth
Raging storms don't matter at all.
I see over every wall.
I live and I walk down on the forest floor
'Cause that's where the work of my two hands is done.
But strength only comes where the mountains soar
'Cause that's where the battle's truly fought and won.
I'm looking down on the curve of the Earth
And my troubles vanishing small.
From the height that looks on the curve of the Earth
Raging storms don't matter at all.
I see over every wall.
I look on the Earth as it was meant to be
And see that horizon will soon join with mine.
In patience I wait for God to turn the key
That ends the long reign of this mad tyrant Time.
I'm looking down on the curve of the Earth
And my troubles vanishing small.
From the height that looks on the curve of the Earth
Raging storms don't matter at all.
I see over every wall.
