Disturb the Waters
copyright February 7, 2008, Roy Stucky

Under cover at the party (can you see the real me?)
We're together while alone.
The weight of pressing memory
Bends necks like miller's stone.

Behind the portal fiber
Running straight into the brain
Are puzzles half completed
By the pieces that remain.

Each breath disturbs the waters
Rolling time inside its womb.
What picture heeds the summons
To appear inside this room?

I know it's all connected
But I've lost the guiding thread.
My thoughts are caught in tangles
Tripping every word I've said.

Each breath disturbs the waters
Like an angel's call to heal.
The deep that stirs inside us
Is the way we touch what's real.

The leaping spawn of vision
Has been bound and made to crawl.
He conforms to timid things
That hide behind the wall.

Each breath disturbs the waters
Rolling over in their tomb.
Experience is summoned
To the courthouse jury room.

Massed moments of experience
Change doubles to their square.
Dimensional expansion comes
Through learning how to share.

Each breath disturbs the waters
Like an angel's call to heal.
The deep that stirs inside us
Is the way we touch what's real.

When the spies decide to party
There are secrets in the air.
The days gone by are climbing
Up a central winding stair.
