Gentle Man
© May 16, 2014, Roy Stucky

Look what Adam sold
For golden lies and mold
That steals away
The burning coals of life.

Friends whose grief cannot be told
Lay hold upon this quiet soul
And cry to view the ragged hole
His leaving brings.

We've become the mortal hands
And marching feet of moral stands
To honor such a gentle man.
Those who know can't understand
A land without this gentle man.

Brother, friend, and son,
After all this world has done -
In Heaven Archie once again can run.

We've become the mortal hands
And marching feet of moral stands
To honor such a gentle man.
Those who know can't understand
A land without this gentle man.

Quotations

"Somehow, when once you've looked into anyone's eyes, right deep down into them, I mean, nobody will do for that one anymore. Nobody, ever so beautiful or so good, will make up for that one going out of sight."
George MacDonald
