Choosing Life, allowing the light of God's love to shine down into the core of our secret evils, destroys the shadows. The more we partake of the True Light, the more we open our hearts to God's Love, the less hold evil retains on us.

The light changes. At first the change makes my failures appear even worse than they seemed under colorless moonlight. But as God draws near me, as I draw near Him, the light strengthens and wipes away the half-light creatures of my fears. Come light! Come quickly Lord Jesus!

The lessons of Dark Illumination should have long ago taught us that we lack the eternal perspective to know what is 'good' for us. Curse of Vision in Hell should have shown us that we carry our destruction within ourselves. Falling should have demonstrated we do not have the ability to conquer evil by our cunning.

When we become transparent to Love in our most hidden places of the heart, then darkness will be destroyed. The light that evil intended to burn out our eyes will instead be turned by God to consume that evil.

On a larger level, this song is about the coming time when the light of God's glory will fill the Earth, leaving no shadows.

"Shadows" ties to Falling. When we begin to see reality, there is a shock in realizing how little we understood.

"Powers change" is that as we mature in the Lord, we see how pitiful are the enemy's forces compared to that of the Lord of Hosts.

"Death too will drink" is that death, that last stronghold of evil, will also be removed soon.

"Darkness' fortress" is not just some demonic citadel of the underworld. It is the unrepentant sin we hide in our hearts from God. It is any area we refuse to turn over to His control.

"Walls made of glass" is that the lairs where sin hides itself will become transparent to the Light.

"Shed love abroad" is that love is the light.

"Trees clap their hands" is the rejoicing that all Nature will participate in at the return of the King. Our obedience to the Word hastens that day.
