There's a World in Here
© December 5, 2009, Roy Stucky

There's a world in here
You have never seen
But by shadow tracks
On my facial screen.

There's a world in here
No one else explores
'Cause you're far too large
For these tiny doors.

There's a world in here
If you take my word
Though the voice I know
Isn't one you've heard.

Did you think to know my name
From the label on my shoes?
Did you hope I'd be the same
As the things you take for clues?
Just imagine how I feel
With my windows locked away.
If I learn to break the seal
Will you come outside and play?

There's a world in here
With a star-lit sea
Plied by dream-wind ships
Asking after me.
