Generation plays the pedigree image against that of power. Who has that power? How free are they in its exercise? Image for cover should by dominated by Chernobyl in its concrete sarcophagus. A symbol of how humanity needs protection from the whore of science which will serve any pimp. The concept is human generations, procreation, power generation - the hideously mechanical colliding with the hopelessly human. The idea underneath is that the whore of science acknowledges none of its offspring. Conversely, the Bride of Christ is fully committed to her children. The generation of half the world's scientists is directly controlled by the military, of many others indirectly, such that it must be but a fraction who actually work to discover basic knowledge or produce ideas of benefit to humanity.

I live at the end of a long road of people mocking those who said some scientific "advance" was against the will of God. The irony is that in large measure as the mockery has become more socially acceptable, it has become less justifiable. Until we are now faced with Red China killing political prisoners and harvesting their organs for Party officials. Until now we are faced with human beings grown in vats for spare parts. Until now the "science" is so hideous even an atheist ought to see something is wrong.

This is a theme concept album about the family and politics. While these areas are often divided as being 'private' vs. 'public', the reality is that family and society and government are so intermingled it is often difficult to tell where one ends and another begins. Society and government have no existence without the family, but it is also a most rare family that is not part of a society and living under a government.

The approach used in this album has been to paint the interaction through the juxtaposition of songs about society and songs about family, rather than directly through songs about the interaction. The 'family' songs open and close the album, creating the context for the 'social' songs in the center. This represents the primacy of the family, and how the real effect of social situations only becomes clear in light of their impact on the family.

In the series this album takes the level of the concern for someone other than yourself found in the marriage relationship of Beyond Self and expands it to our children.

Many people are bewildered as to what motivates Christians to speak out on social issues; private matters as folks seem so fond of saying. The typical explanation has been that Christians are intolerant, and want to push their beliefs on other people. Has anyone stopped to consider our children?

In the series this album takes the level of the concern for someone other than yourself found in the marriage relationship of Beyond Self and expands it to our children.

Beginning But No End describes why children are of great value, because they are the beginning of eternal beings.

Hope of Our Future is a perspective that lays aside selfish values, in that this future will come after my residency on this Earth has passed.

Rip It Out ties the loss of our connection to the land to the loss of our connection to what is good, as representing the loss of what cannot be replaced.  We have not been good stewards of our children and their future.  Part of the sorrow is that the dishonor this brings seems beyond this culture's comprehension. Spiritual rootlessness has consequences. Rip It Out = children were once seen as our renewal.

Similarities is how much more a person is than their DNA.

Brave New Moreau = children designed.

The Grove is a different land, where the lack of children are indeed the indicator of a culture's values. The pagan killed his child to make his life easier. Sound familiar? The Grove = children killed.

Stem Sell = children devoured. Saturn is alive and well in the United States of America.

Human With a Cat a jaded society cares about nothing, but does love to be entertained. Is it not ironic that a nation enthralled with eating natural food is so intrigued by unnatural biology? We finally recognize the application of technology to food crops and animals has been of dubious benefit, if not a full blown catastrophy, yet seem to think nothing of letting that same unintended-consequence technology loose on the flesh of our flesh and bone of our bone. And then trust to be arrogant about how logical we are.

A Child's Dream is the voice of one of those children grown enough to understand how badly the stewardship was managed.

Children of This Generation is how we should treat the children. In particular, there is an urgency to the upbringing of the children of Christians because the end of days is upon us.
