Believe
© September 21, 2007, Roy Stucky

Disbelief will lay you down
To moan upon the couch.
You're some helpless baby clown
Whose circus shut you out.

The world responds with ego trips -
"You must believe upon yourself".
But you know that your strength is not
The posterboy of health.

Believe in the risen Savior
Who's promised to never go away.
Believe in the Holy Spirit,
Your guide deep inside if you'll obey.
Believe in God the Father -
Allow His plan to guide you every day.
That's why we pray.

On your own you're just a victim
But in Christ you are God's hand.
Nothing is impossible
When under God's command.

Believe in the risen Savior
Who's promised to never go away.
Believe in the Holy Spirit,
Your guide deep inside if you'll obey.
Believe in God the Father -
Allow His plan to guide you every day.
That's why we pray.

It's God in you
Who lifts you to
The heights you couldn't touch.
The Master Plan's
No dream of Man
Who thinks he knows so much.
God's private thoughts
Are never caught
By spirit amputees.
The Lord of lords
Can well afford
To stock His embassy.

Believe in the risen Savior
Who's promised to never go away.
Believe in the Holy Spirit,
Your guide deep inside if you'll obey.
Believe in God the Father -
Allow His plan to guide you every day.
That's why we pray.

What is your basis for disbelief in Jesus? He is certainly a real person from history. There is not really any question about that. It is up to you to decide if He was the Son of God, as He said He is.

Instead the world tells you to believe in yourself. But you know all too well your wisdom is not trustworthy.

Quotations

"Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All power is given to Me in heaven and in earth. Go therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even to the end of the world. Amen."
Matthew 28:18-20

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, Whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said to you.
John 14:26

A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directes his steps.
Proverbs 16:9
