In the vain cultural tumult, all without root are scattered.

The imagery here is that of autumn leaves from a grape vine. The representation is that of a Christian who has fallen away from Jesus. Once the life of the sap stops flowing into them, the storms of the world easily push them around.

"Color drain" is the green of life being pulled from the leaves in autumn, leaving the colors we associate with that season.

As an aside, since the color seen was always there, this metaphor could be misused to mean those who fall away were never Christians to begin with, but just appeared so. While there are some people like that, most people who fall have in no wise 'lost their salvation', but rather their reward.

"Broken chain" is the leaves falling away, dead.

"Blown debris" is that now the leaves are just trash pushed around by the wind.

"You call that free?" is that freedom from God is like the freedom of a leaf from the vine. Death.

"Evergreen" is to be a leaf that never falls, a member of the Body who never departs from God's plan for your life.

"Leaf in the storm" asks if you have remained rooted and grounded in the Word, or are drifting, blown about by every wind of doctrine.

"Winter" as image of the trials the world brings against each of us.

"Who's flame" asks if your resistance to these trials is based on the foundation of the power of God or your own feeble strength.

"Rising wind" is that as the end draws near, the forces of destruction grow stronger, scattering all who are not attached to the Vine.

"Treat you with scorn" is that sinners are slaves of sin, and hate-God their lord despises them. Can he safely scoff at you because you walk as a person and not as a Child Of The King?

"Your salvation leaves no seed" is that while you will go to Heaven because you accepted Jesus as your Savior, you do not produce any godly fruit on this Earth.

"Weeds will grow where you decay" is that your actions in this life plant seeds, and if they are not godly, you are planting weeds with which others will contend.

"Cloak the rot for one short day" is that for a time your life may appear to be of benefit to the world, but that stubble will not last long.

"Fear the force//That shatters your form" is that without God, you have no protection against the world.

"How is this the plan" is that being blown about and tossed is surely not what God intended when He wrought your soul.

"Blindly float" is being blown about and tossed because of a lack of knowledge and vision, without the wisdom of God guiding your life.

"The antidote" is the Word of God.

"Return to Jesus' Vine" is coming back into a daily relationship of submission to Jesus.

"Master's Holy Wine" plays on the fruit of the Vine, and on the benefits of participating in the Lord's Supper

"Dead uniform" is the outward shell of respectability.
