Song 2 |
Blame the Rain On Me |
 |
© 2015, Roy Stucky
You stood there with a raincoat on.
But underneath you wore chiffon
You hoped I might see.
Protected from the weather vain,
Surprised to hear your proper name
From someone like me.
The season when your heart took wing
Pretends your life's forever Spring
Where flowers grew.
But underneath you must recall
A love in chains was bound to Fall
And leave you.
A bitter wind has justified the need for putting on your coat.
And I can't blame your never answering the letters that I wrote.
Our weather forecast was inaccurate I'm sure we'd both agree.
But you can blame the rain on me.
