Lord, should I sing of peace
To those in despair?
Should I climb to the peak
And tell what I saw there?

Or should I sing of justice
To those asleep?
Show how some people
Are slaughtered like sheep?

Their figuregrounds are far apart.
Could any song ignite the start
Of beating through a single heart?

Expose evil,
Propose hope?
Different people
Must cope with the same big world.

To the first I'd say
Don't despair.
To the second say
Be aware.

Should I choose one or the other,
Or is there a center
Where both can recover?
