Song 10 - Sudetenland (zoo-day-tn-lahnt)

© March 13, 2008, Roy Stucky

Our foes have convinced you to try to break free.
But you know your leaving is not meant to be.
You say you don't want us but we know what's real.
You've always belonged right here under our heel.

Don't run or we'll kill you.
Bow down or die.
When we shoot our children
We always cry.

The borders can't remain as they've been drawn.
The Greater German Reich includes Taiwan.
So don't think we are open to detente.
One China must contain Sudetenland.
Sudetenland.
Sudetenland.
Sudetenland.
Sudetenland.

Come home or we'll kill you.
Love us or die.
You won't live without us.
Don't even try.

This gun is the sun that will help our love grow.
Oh flesh of our flesh we will not let you go.
We won't be to blame for the trouble you've made.
We love you so much we'll be forced to invade.

Obey or we'll kill you.
Join us or die.
It's time that you learned to
Never ask why.

The borders can't remain as they've been drawn.
The Greater German Reich includes Taiwan.
So don't think we are open to detente.
One China must contain Sudetenland.
Sudetenland.
Sudetenland.
Sudetenland.
Sudetenland.

Please don't make us kill you.
Don't choose to die.
We don't want to bomb you
With tears in our eyes.

We're not going to bend on your making a break.
The lines on the map will soon wear a new shape.
If you don't believe us you'll rue your mistake.
We'd rather destroy you than see you escape.

The price of your rescue
Is more than they'll buy.
There's no one to help you -
Democracies lie.

The borders can't remain as they've been drawn.
The Greater German Reich includes Taiwan.
So don't think we are open to detente.
One China must contain Sudetenland.
Sudetenland.
Sudetenland.
Sudetenland.
Sudetenland.

The Fatherland calls from the top of the hill,
Authority flows from the end of a gun.
My sons must return or they'll force me to kill
Every single one.

Love
Makes
Us
Kill

DESCRIPTION

This connects the demand of Hitler to be given Sudetenland with Red China's demand to be given Taiwan. What I find ironic is Red China's rhetoric, which is everywhere in this song. If you love something, shouldn't you be willing to let it go?

Given how the Allies betrayed Sudetenland and Czechoslovakia in the Munich Accord, if you are living in Taiwan you must ask yourself how far the U.S. would be willing to go to protect you from Red China's stated intent to invade the moment you declare independence. If the answer is "not very likely", then the people of Taiwan must consider surrender to the aggressor. In other words, the pistol is aimed at the head of democracy. Taiwan is a democracy threatened by a powerful totalitarian state. But all the talk of the West is about peace. Surely this sounds familiar.

Keep in mind Red China's claims do not stop at Taiwan. Everyone around Red China, from Russia to the Philippines to Vietnam to Japan is familar with their claims to territory. It seems to be the nature of the world. Demands that include a cocked pistol to the head tend to be open ended.

The language of this song is that of a stalker or a deranged abusive boyfriend.
